Why most Orange County homes have WiFi problems

Newport Beach, Newport Coast, and parts of Irvine and Laguna Beach were built with walls that are murder on WiFi. Concrete, stucco, thick stud bays, and the occasional steel frame. A single router from the ISP rarely covers more than 30 to 40% of a 3,000+ sq ft home well.

Most "the internet is slow" complaints we get aren't actually a speed problem. Spectrum gives you 500 to 1000 Mbps to the modem. What's missing is the WiFi between that modem and your devices. The fix is a properly designed mesh layout, usually 2 to 4 access points placed where your home actually loses signal, not where it's convenient for the installer.

For businesses (clinics, salons, retail, small offices) there are extra layers: guest network segmentation, point-of-sale reliability, security camera bandwidth, and printers that need to stay on the same VLAN as everyone else. We handle those too.

For a recent real example, see our case study of an Orbi 970 Wi-Fi 7 mesh installation on a 1-acre Irvine property.

What we install and fix

Full-stack home and small business work. Design, install, configure, test, document.

Whole-home mesh WiFi

Eero, Orbi, TP-Link Deco, ASUS ZenWiFi, or Ubiquiti. Sized and placed for actual coverage, not marketing numbers.

Router setup & replacement

New router install, ISP modem-to-router handoff, port forwarding, parental controls, IoT separation.

Ethernet wiring

New Cat-6 / Cat-6A runs through attics, crawlspaces, and walls. Wall plates, patch panels, terminations done right.

Smart home networking

Cameras, doorbells, smart locks, Sonos, Apple TV, garage openers. Everything on the right network with the right priority.

Small-business networks

Multi-AP WiFi, guest VLANs, POS reliability, printer networking, basic firewall, low-disruption installs after hours.

Network security & troubleshooting

Diagnosing slow speeds, drops, unknown devices, kids' device limits, and locking down a network that grew over time.

How a typical install works

We do not sell equipment first. We figure out what you actually need, then install it.

Layout & quote

You get a written plan: equipment, where it goes, cabling if any, and a flat-quote price.

3

Install & configure

Most homes done in one visit, 2 to 4 hours. We don't leave until every device on your list works.

4

Support after

We document the setup and answer follow-up questions. Add a device later, just call.

Frequently asked questions

How much does home network installation cost in Orange County?+

Basic router setup starts at $89. Whole-home mesh WiFi installation runs $199 to $499 depending on home size and the number of access points. Business and multi-floor installs are quoted on-site after a free walkthrough. We don't charge to come look.

Which Orange County cities do you serve for on-site network installation?+

We provide on-site WiFi and network installation across Orange County, including Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Tustin, Santa Ana, Aliso Viejo, and surrounding areas. Travel beyond ~25 miles is quoted on a case-by-case basis.

My WiFi works in some rooms but not others. What do I need?+

In most Orange County homes, dead zones come from router placement and signal-blocking walls, not bad equipment. The fix is usually mesh WiFi: a small number of access points placed in a planned layout so coverage is uniform. Larger homes (4,000+ sq ft) often need 3 to 4 nodes. We design the layout during the free walkthrough.

Do I have to buy equipment from you?+

No. We are brand-neutral and have no kickback deals with any manufacturer. Bring the equipment you already own, or we will recommend specific Eero, TP-Link, ASUS, Netgear, or Ubiquiti gear sized to your space. You choose where to buy.

I have Spectrum, Cox, AT&T Fiber, or Frontier. Does that matter?+

We work with every Orange County ISP. The modem or ONT they install is fine for the ISP side. The WiFi side, the part that actually reaches your devices, is where most homes have problems. That's independent of who your provider is.

Can you set up a small business network?+

Yes. Small offices, retail, medical, dental, and salon networks are a regular part of our work. We handle Ethernet runs, multi-AP WiFi, VLAN segmentation for guest networks, and basic firewall configuration. Larger enterprise networks are out of scope.

Do you run new Ethernet wiring?+

Yes, for runs that stay above ceiling tiles, through unfinished spaces (garage, attic, crawlspace), or that can be neatly fished through existing walls. Drywall cutting and patching for in-wall runs is quoted by the foot.

How long does a typical home install take?+

A simple router replacement is 30 to 60 minutes. A whole-home mesh install with 3 access points typically takes 2 to 3 hours including testing. Ethernet drops add time depending on the run.

Do you also fix existing networks that are not working right?+

Yes. Slow speeds, frequent disconnects, devices dropping off, can't print, smart home gear not connecting. Most of these are diagnosable in one visit. If we can't fix it on-site, you don't pay for the visit.

What about smart home devices and IoT?+

We help with Sonos, Ring, Nest, smart locks, smart lighting, security cameras, garage openers, and similar gear. Most "it disconnects" problems trace back to WiFi coverage and network segmentation, which is exactly what we set up correctly the first time.

WiFi that works in every room. On every device.
